GITSRC
Introduces Internet Business in the Provinces

The inter-island infrastructure project of the Philippine Long Distance
and Telephone Company (PLDT) had inspired GITSRC to introduce the
Internet Business in Samar and Leyte islands.
This
pioneering project of GITSRC will not only enhance the Leyte and
Samar economy but will also minimize the "brain-drain"
phenomenon among the Leytenos and Samarnons who constitute a large
computer expert positions in the Greater Manila Area, Cebu and abroad.
There are also a great number of Computer Science graduates in these
two provinces who remain unemployed.
As
GITSRC is aiming to help businesses grow using the internet technology,
expansions in some other Visayan islands and in Mindanao is a possible
future investment.
According
to Mr. Gerardo, there is a good potential and opportunities in these
provinces and although late in the technological development and
infrastructure, there got to be someone to trigger the implementation
of "high-tech" businesses and probably compete in the
future with the enterprises in the Greater Manila Area and Cebu.
This will also revolutionize the high cost of "high-tech"
services in the country."
